About the Board
The College is governed by a ten-member Board of Trustees. Five are appointed by the County Executive for seven-year terms, four are appointed by the Governor, also for seven-year terms, and one is a student representative elected by the Onondaga Community College Student Association to a one-year term.
The responsibilities of the Board of Trustees are defined in New York Education Law, Community College Regulations, Part 604: Administration of the College, Section 604.2: Responsibilities and duties of the college trustees.
Board Meeting Schedule
All meetings are open to the public and held on the 4th Tuesday of each month unless noted*. Meetings are held in Whitney 209.
Finance Committee- 8:00 - 9:00 am
Education Committee- 9:00 - 10:00 am
Board of Trustees Meeting- 10:00 - 11:00 am
* There are no meetings in October, December, February and May. Meetings will be held on the 3rd Tuesday in November '09 and the 1st Tuesday in June '10.
