Application Requirements
In addition to your completed application we will need one of the following
- an official high school transcript showing proof of graduation from high school (applicants still in high school should send most recent transcript at time of application and a final is required when available) (OR)
- an official GED score report or a copy of an official GED score report
Please Note:
- If you are no longer in high school: We recommend calling your high school(s) to have the transcript(s) sent directly to our Admissions Office
- If you are still in high school: It is best to bring your completed OCC application to your counselor to have your records attached to the application and sent directly to the Admissions Office at OCC.
- If you are neither a high school graduate nor a GED recipient, and beyond the age of compulsory education, you may be considered for admission under the Ability to Benefit provision. Under this provision, applicants must achieve satisfactory scores on pre-admission testing as approved by the Secretary of Education. An informational interview is highly recommended to discuss this option. Call the Office of Admissions at (315) 498-2221 to schedule an appointment.
Application Process
Whichever way you choose to apply, we will evaluate your application when all required forms have been received from you and/or SUNY.
As soon as our evaluation is complete, you will receive an admission decision via standard mail. If you have any questions about the status of your application, please contact the Admissions Office at (315) 498-2201 or email OCCadmissions@sunyocc.edu.
Application Deadlines
We encourage you to apply as early as possible so that you'll get the courses you want. Generally, we will need all your application materials by the Friday before the first day of classes. You can start most programs during any semester. Some programs, however, have limited enrollment or fill up early. If you have concerns or questions about the program you're interested in, call our Admissions Office and an advisor will help you.
