Application Deadlines

Candidates from abroad:

Apply a few months before the start of the semester you plan to attend. Time needed for the admission process to OCC varies from country to country depending upon how easy it is to get a visa interview and F1 visa. Please check with the local U.S. Consular office about wait time for visa interviews and the flexibility of getting an F1 visa. Onondaga will assist with the process as possible.

Candidates already in the U.S. and need to change immigration status to F1:

Apply before the current immigration status expires. However, prior consultation is required before initiating the process. Note: There are no guarantees for change of status to F1 since the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services of the Department of Homeland Security adjudicates on a case-by-case basis.

F1 Transfer Candidates:

Apply at least two weeks before the start of the semester if all the Student Exchange and Visitor Information (SEVIS) requirements have been met.

Transfer Requirements

In addition to the application requirements noted above, if you are transferring to Onondaga you may need to take additional steps.

If you are transferring from a college or university in the U.S., you must initiate the release of your SEVIS file to Onondaga. Download the SEVIS Transfer-In Verification Form to begin this process.
