Accommodative Classroom Testing
If you require accommodations for classroom tests or quizzes, you must first complete an intake with a Disability Specialist by scheduling an appointment with the Disability Services Office. The nature and extent of accommodations are based on the specific disability and are determined during your intake meeting. Students will be given an accommodation sheet from DSO which should be presented to the Testing Services Department at the beginning of each semester.
Make appointments with Testing Services as soon as you know when your exam is scheduled. Testing Services is located in the Gordon Student Center room 230.
The testing accommodations most frequently requested are: extended time and a quiet, less distracting environment. Other accommodations may include, but are not limited to, tests read via adaptive technology such as Kurzweil, use of Jaws or Dragon Dictate and access to a computer or calculator. Students should make requests for testing accommodations as early as possible, preferably at the beginning of each semester.
