Arts Across Campus
About Arts Across Campus (AAC)
Launched in 2001 by an Arts Task Force commissioned by President Debbie L. Sydow, Ph.D., to assess and improve the existing arts environment on campus, Arts Across Campus (AAC) plans and presents an annual comprehensive arts program. The program may include a combination of the following in a given year: concerts, theatre, lecture, film, rotating art exhibitions, and permanent public art installations.
This initiative is also characterized by partnerships with successful arts organizations such as Partners for Arts Education, SUNY Oswego, Jazz Fest, Syracuse Symphony, Syracuse Stage, th3 (city wide art open) and Open Hand Theater, and by collaborations with local, regional, and national artists, including OCC students, faculty, and alumni.
AAC Mission Statement
Arts Across Campus makes high quality art and artistic programming accessible to students and our diverse citizenry, enriching the learning experience through innovative programming designed to promote global perspectives, foster creativity, and cultivate lifelong engagement in the arts.
AAC Vision Statement
"Inspiring lifelong learning in, about and through the arts."
