Klein holds a master of education from the University of Virginia and a bachelor of science from Slippery Rock University. He was one of 20 professors chosen to be an “eProfessor” as part of the Syracuse Campus-Community Entrepreneurship Initiative, which connects campus and community organizations by providing entrepreneurship grants to fund ideas for revitalizing CNY.
A passionate advocate for alternative energy sources, Klein and his family create their own electricity through the use of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels installed on their home. As an expert in this area, Klein often promotes alternative energy systems for CNY homeowners. Additionally, he teaches a number of online classes so that students can take advantage of convenient learning opportunities without having to expend fossil fuel to “come to class.” Klein can also speak to the concept of “Peak Oil” as it relates to the future availability of petroleum and other fossil fuels.
