College Career Workshops: Backpack To Briefcase
“Backpack To Briefcase” is an effort to brand the series of workshops we will
offer to students as part of our preparation towards the Career Fair on
Wednesday, April 26. OCC alumni, faculty and staff will be encouraged to
participate as facilitators or presenters in these offerings to provide them with
the opportunity to engage our current students.
Discuss a wide range of professional development topics to current students so
they can couple what they are learning in the classroom with real world
competency to enhance their job search efforts and prepare them for the Career
Fair. Moreover, the inclusion of alumni with these offerings will provide input
from current industry leaders who can serve as possible mentors or inspiration
to current students because they have the common bond of an OCC education. In
support of the Strategic Plan the focus here is not on targeting specific
majors, but concentrating on the makeup of a young professional (soft skills).
