Services provides leadership in the promotion of cultural diversity at all
levels of the college and the community.
Our purpose is
to sustain an environment where relationships among people will foster
inclusive, equitable experiences for learning, working and living. The
historical focus remains that of serving as an ally to people of color,
racial/ethnic under-represented groups and protected class* populations. While
academic achievement is of primary importance, educational programs and
co-curricular events provide students the opportunity to socialize and interact
with peers and community role models who visit campus, as well as hear from
national and local speakers on a variety of themes and strategies for
addressing specific issues on inclusion, diversity, and international
relations. Students are encouraged to engage in these experiences of diversity
of ideas, thoughts and perspectives both in and out of the classroom.
The Ann Felton
Multicultural Center located on the first floor of Ferrante Hall, provides a
welcoming and supportive atmosphere for students to come together to share
their cross-cultural experiences. The Center features an art gallery, and an
environment conducive to sharing of diverse cultural experiences.
