The Transfer Agreement between Onondaga Community College and Houghton
College was renewed in March 2018.
A student from OCC who has been accepted at Houghton College may transfer with the guarantee that appropriate courses with a grade of C- or better will fulfill given Houghton College requirements. (Differences between requirements for traditional undergraduates and for Online students are noted below.)
Students transferring to the main campus (Houghton, NY) - A student with an A.A. or A.S. degree will have satisfied all core requirements (General Education) for a Houghton College bachelor’s degree except three courses, Biblical Literature, Introduction to Christianity, and a third bible or theology course (numbered under 350) of their choice. Students who transfer at least 60 hours that are applicable toward a bachelor’s degree will automatically be classified as juniors.
Online Students – A student with an A.A. or A.S. degrees transferring to an Online program, may enter Houghton as a junior with General Education requirements considered complete, except for Biblical Literature and Introduction to Christianity.
