MAT 161 Calculus I (4 credits)
A first course in calculus for students in mathematics, science, computer science and engineering. Basic analytic geometry, functions, limits and continuity, derivatives of algebraic and trigonometric functions, chain rule, implicit differentiation, antiderivatives, definite integrals, Fundamental Theorem, applications of derivatives and integrals. Graphing calculator use is required. Prerequisite: Four years of college-preparatory mathematics (including trigonometry) or a C or better in MAT 143 or MAT 120 or Permission of Instructor.
