Continuum

Continuum is a publication for Onondaga supporters, friends, alumni and the CNY Community that is published by the College, OCC Foundation and Alumni Council to keep people informed about what is happening at Onondaga Community College.

Alumni Faces Recognition Program

This program celebrates alumni who discovered and honed their natural talents and interests at OCC, and whose achievements exemplify the notion that Onondaga Community College provides the foundation for extraordinary lives.

Candidates must have:

  • Completed at least two full semesters at Onondaga.
  • Demonstrated exemplary achievement or contributions on a local, national or international level to their:
    1. Profession or career

      Have made exceptional career accomplishments or have achieved "recognized success" in their business, profession or other vocational endeavor or 

    2. Service to their community or beyond

      Have made a significant contribution to the betterment of society through their involvement in community, charitable organizations and other humanitarian undertakings. 

     

These accomplishments can be either over an extended period of time or can represent one single remarkable contribution.

Distinguished Alumni Award

The OCC Distinguished Alumni Award was created by the OCC Alumni Association in 1985 to recognize the accomplishments of Onondaga graduates. The award acknowledged the leadership and the professional, civic, and service achievements of alumni from the Greater Syracuse area and beyond.  This award – a part the alumni award and recognition program - was taken to the next level in 2006 when the Alumni Faces recognition initiative was put in place at the College.  Listed below you will find the names of notable alumni who were recognized as OCC Distinguished Alumni award recipients through 2007 when the program ended.
