The program may be taken on campus or online. Since the General Studies classes are small with no more than 20 students, you will get the individual guidance you need. Courses are taught seminar style, with an emphasis on assessments, surveys and class discussions to help discover where your interests lie. You will also get a background in history, science, English and social sciences as most freshmen and sophomores do at four-year colleges. Many students choose to transfer to a four-year institution and pursue concentrations such as cinema, communication, human services or journalism. Course Descriptions >
There is no "typical" General Studies student or career path. Some graduates find jobs in public service or government agencies. Others choose to transfer to a four-year institution to continue their studies. Regardless of the goals you decide to pursue, the broad background provided through General Studies offers the rewards and opportunities of a diversified education.
This degree program has transfer agreements with the colleges listed below. This means you can start your degree here and finish it there without losing credits.
