We offer an A.S. degree program that prepares you for this diverse and exciting field.

What You Will Learn:

As a Recreation Leadership student, you will learn the group leadership techniques that are necessary in helping others achieve personal growth and fulfillment through recreational activities. You will become well versed in planning, preparing and leading a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities, and skilled in safety and first aid. Humanities and volunteer service requirements enhance your academic experience.

What It Is Like:

If you like being challenged, staying active and working with people, this A.S. degree program offers a healthy dose of all three. You will participate in aquatic activities, take camping and nature study courses, and become adept at individual and team sports leadership. This curriculum is especially designed to create respect and reliance among classmates.

The possibilities are endless. Possible career opportunities include working with kids in residential or day camp settings, working with adults in community recreation centers or with specialty populations through private agencies. You can also transfer your credits to pursue advanced studies in Recreation and Leisure, or careers in physical education or sports management.
