Oct 2nd - Onondaga Community College competed as a complete Men's and Women's Cross Country team for the first time since starting a team this year. Both teams went to compete at the Cazenovia Homecoming Cross Country Invitational.
On the Women's side the team finished fifth out of eight teams with the Ithaca Women winning the meet. Britt Ross (25:32) and Jenna Delaney (26:02) showed great improvement on this muddy rolling course. Cara Andrianos (27:03) was close behind them and Kristina Sprague (23:30) led the team with an impressive top 5 finish but it was the addition of Richara Terpening and Laura Layton that made the team complete and allowed the team to do so well in the Lazer's first team effort.
On the Men's side Tyree Shaw and Ed Donovan are new additions to the team. With the addition of Tyree and Ed the team is now able to score in team competition. Clarkson won the mens' competition and the Lazer's finished sixth. Greg Massara (30:57) led the team over this difficult 5 mile course. Zach McQuaid (32:53) and Chris Shannon (33:34) both improved over their previous efforts with Chris winning a battle down the stretch against a runner from Paul Smith and another from Clarkson.
The team will next travel to Nazareth on October 9th for the Golden Flyer Invitational.
