The best season in Onondaga Community College Cross Country history got a little better today. There were a few highlights from the national championship meet at Holyoke Massachusetts. The Women's team for the first time in our school's history placed at the National Championship meet. The team ran well against the best Division III Junior Colleges in the country taking 7th place. The women were led by Meghan Guzewicz of Auburn. She finished 14th and earning NJCAA Division III honorable mention All-American status. She was followed by OCC's two women runners from Oswego Britt Ross and Jenna Delaney. Cara Andrianos of ESM was OCC's fourth runner and 51 year old Laura Layton finished fifth for the Lazers.
On the Men's side Onondaga Community College was able to send two individuals. Chris Handelmann of Homer and Kevin Zych of Westhill. Kevin Zych finished sixth at the championship event earning NJCAA Division III second team All-American honors.
