Onondaga Community College men’s basketball player Jordan Prior named NJCAA Region 3 Male Co-Athlete of the Week

Lazers return to action against SUNY ESF on Wednesday evening.

SYRACUSE, NY. – November 8, 2011 – Onondaga Community College men’s basketball player Jordan Prior (Cortland) has been named the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 3 Male Co-Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 6th. Prior shares the award, which recognizes the top performance in Region 3 across all sports and divisions, with basketball player Xavier Kennedy of Jamestown Community College.

Prior led Onondaga to a season opening 98-84 win over Northampton Community College on Saturday afternoon. In that contest he scored a career high 27 points while making 10 of 18 shots from the floor and all 6 of his free throw attempts. He also recorded 9 assists and 4 rebounds in 35 minutes of playing time as the Lazers defeated the #12 ranked team in the nation according to the NJCAA pre-season poll.

Onondaga is ranked #5 in Region 3 in the first ranking of the season, released today. The Lazers will return to action on Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm, when they host the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
