DSCN7695    The Onondaga Cross Country teams travelled south to Cortland State to run the Jack Daniels Shoot Out.  This was the first time we scored a complete team on the Women's side.  Laura Quercia of Marcellus led the team in her first cross country race in a couple of years.  Kayleigh Corbett (Corcoran) improved her time from last year by a couple of minutes (Yes I said minutes).  Jess Emanuelli (West Genesee) ran third and JoAnna Armstrong (Fayetteville Manlius) ran well in her first race in a couple of years.  The team was made complete by Jenn Barreto (Miami Dade) in her first race ever.  This was a very good start for this team and it will get stronger.

On the Men's side Sean Fronce (West Genesee) ran in his first cross country race ever. Welcome to the sport!!  The Men's team made big improvements this week by improving it's compression from first to fifth from a little over four minutes down to one minute and 41 seconds.  This was good enough to get the team to 7th out of 9 teams.  Chris Handelmann (Homer) led the team again with Mike Nakoski (Onondaga Central) and Robert Patterson (Jordan Elbridge) close behind.  Mike Malone (Fayetteville Manlius) was much improved this week and coming off of an injury Dave Johnson (Oswego) ran very well.

Next week the team goes to Cazenovia
