ONONDAGA COMMUNITY COLLEGE ERRUPTS FOR 123 POINTS IN WIN OVER TOMPKINS CORTLAND CC

Six reach double figures as Lazers win third straight.

SYRACUSE, NY. -- February 9, 2006 -- The Onondaga Community College men’s basketball team poured in 71 first half points on the way to a 123-84 Mid-State Athletic Conference win at Tompkins Cortland Community College last night (Wednesday). The win was the Lazers’ third straight, and improves their overall record to 13-10.

Onondaga had six different players reach double figures, as all fourteen Lazers who dressed for the game played between 8 and 19 minutes. Onondaga made 50 of 82 shots from the floor (61.0%), including 13 of 21 (61.9%) from three point range. Kenny Gethers (Syracuse Bishop Grimes) led Onondaga with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Eric Latendress (Oriskany) added 17, and Steve Siechen (East Syracuse-Minoa) and Justin Stern (Jamesville-DeWitt) both tallied 16 points. Adrian Hanks (Liverpool) and Jeff Riker (Dryden) scored 15 and 14 points respectively. Pat Mannion (Marcellus) handed out a team high 6 assists.

Onondaga returns to action at home this Saturday, February 11, at 3:00 pm, with a Mid-State Conference contest against Cayuga Community College.
