The Onondaga Lazers Future Stars Basketball Camp will emphasize basketball basics, which will be developed and sharpened through daily sessions. Fundamentals will include shooting, ball handling, passing, rebounding, individual moves, movement without the ball, defensive skills , and conditioning. Game situations each day will provide practice of fundamentals in a competitive atmosphere.

The camp is open to boys ages 8-17. 

2013 Camp Dates

  • Session I - July 1-3, 2013
  • Session II - August 5-9, 2013
  • Session III - August 12-16, 2013

All camp activities will be held at Onondaga Community College, 4585 West Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse, NY 13215-4585. The college is home to first rate facilities including Allyn Hall and the SRC Arena and Events Center.

Hours

The camp will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. Campers should check in at least 15 minutes prior to the start of camp on the first day. To facilitate early drop-off and/or late pickup, the gym will open at 8:00 a.m. and close at 5:00 p.m. each day. There is no extra charge for early drop-off or late pickup.

Camp Fees

  • $150 for Session I
  • $240 for Session II or Session III, or $390 for both Sessions II and III.
  • $150 per week per child for all children after the first two to register from the same immediate family.
  • All registrations received by June 15, 2013, may deduct $20 off the total registration fee.
  • Children of Onondaga Community College and Onondaga Enterprises, Inc. employees and members of the Southwest YMCA at Onondaga may deduct an additional $20 off of the total registration fee.

Equipment

Each camper will need sneakers, shorts, a t-shirt, socks, and a towel. Locker facilities will be available, however campers must provide their own locks.

T-Shirt & Basketball

Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt and basketball, as well as a camp certificate and a comprehensive workout program.

Lunch

Each camper may bring a bag lunch and a beverage each day. Alternatively, campers may purchase lunch and drinks from the college dining service.
