Residency Status Definitions

Onondaga County Resident
A legal resident of New York State for one year and of the County of Onondaga for six months. Both periods of residency must immediately precede the date of registration.
Non-Resident

A legal resident of New York State (but not of Onondaga County) for one year immediately preceding registration.

Non-Resident students may reduce their tuition by submitting a: Certificate of Residence

Out-of-State Resident
A legal resident of a state other than New York, or a student on a visa from another country.

Seniors Audit Free

Onondaga Community College welcomes learners, age 60 and older. If space allows, this non-credit option allows you to attend courses tuition free.  Applicable course fees are payable at the time of registration.

Technology Fee for Part Time Students 

  • $12.50 per credit hour for fall/spring
  • $2.00 per credit hour for winter
  • $4.25 per credit hour for summer 5 wk course
  • $8.50 per credit hour for summer 10 week course 

Notes:

  1. Full-time, Part-time and Overload Students — A full-time student is one enrolled between 12 and 18 equivalent credit hours. A part-time student is one enrolled for less than 12 equivalent credit hours. An overload students is one enrolled for more than 18 equivalent credit hours. A student who enrolls between 12 and 18 equivalent credit hours any time during the semester will be charged the full-time student rates.
  2. Fee is mandatory for all full and part time students.
  3. Students will be billed $21.50 per registered credit "Box of Books" charge.  All required textbooks/access codes will be made available to students prior to the first day of classes.  In addition, new students will  be charged $250.00 for a hot spot-enabled Chromebook at the time they pick up their box of books.
