Residency Status Definitions

Onondaga County Resident
A legal resident of New York State for one year and of the County of Onondaga for six months. Both periods of residency must immediately precede the date of registration.
Non-Resident

A legal resident of New York State (but not of Onondaga County) for one year immediately preceding registration.

Non-Resident students may reduce their tuition by submitting a: Certificate of Residence

Out-of-State Resident
A legal resident of a state other than New York, or a student on a visa from another country.

Seniors Audit Free

Onondaga Community College welcomes learners, age 60 and older. If space allows, this non-credit option allows you to attend courses at no tuition.  Applicable course fees are payable at the time of registration.

Technology Fee for Part Time Students 

  • $12.50 per hour for fall/spring
  • $2.00 per hour for winter
  • $4.25 per hour for summer 5 wk course
  • $8.50 per hour for summer 10 week course 

Notes:

  1. ^ Full-time and Part-time Students — A full-time student is one enrolled for 12 or more equivalent credit hours. A part-time student is one enrolled for less than 12 equivalent credit hours. A student who enrolls for 12 or more equivalent credit hours any time during the semester will be charged the full-time student rates.
  2. ^ Fee is mandatory for all full and part time students.
  3. ^ You are responsible for purchasing your own textbooks, supplies, and any other necessary tools or materials. The cost of books and supplies depends on your curriculum and the types of courses selected.
