May 3: Class #1 - How to Taste Wines Like a Pro

The purpose of the class is to take away the “mystery” of tasting wines and get class participants to understand that their palates and wine knowledge are actually much better in most instances than they believe.

We take the class through the aromas and flavor characteristics of white wines and red wines, the proper techniques for opening, pouring and storing wines and how to order wine in a restaurant.

Class members taste wines “blind” and have to guess the wine, with the big “reveal” at the end of the class.

May 17: Class # 2 - White Wine Basics

We take the class through the major white wine varietals, discussing varietal characteristics, growing regions, vineyard practices, oak aging vs. stainless steel and price points. Wines are tasted to help the class participant understand these concepts.

May 31: Class #3 - Red Wine Basics

As with White Wine Basics, we take the class through the major red wine varietals, discussing varietal characteristics, growing regions, vineyard practices, oak aging vs. stainless steel vs. blending and price points. Wines are tasted to help the class participant understand these concepts.
