Steve Rosenfeld, pianist, is a native of Syracuse, New York. He graduated with awards of distinction during undergraduate studies at SUNY-Binghamton, and Masters and Doctoral degrees from SUNY-Stony Brook.

He was appointed first full-time Chairman at the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, and performed as soloist with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. He also gave solo and chamber performances in Chicago, Boston and New York and at Detroit’s Orchestra Hall.

Rosenfeld has served on the faculties of Syracuse University and Colgate University for a total of 10 years. He has performed widely at universities in the central New York area, including recitals at LeMoyne, Syracuse, Colgate, Nazareth and Potsdam universities. A recording artist, he has made 15 CDs for the Renegade Classics label, and presently teaches in Manlius. He has written multiple articles for national magazines in the area of piano pedagogy, including his most recent one in 2012.

His performance will present a set of the most effective encore pieces in the concert repertoire, as well as a brief discussion of each piece. It lasts approximately 40 minutes, including the discussion.
