    Is my gift tax-deductible?
OCC Foundation, Inc. is exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(C)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, therefore your gift is tax-deductible to the full extent provided by law. OCC Foundation became established as a nonprofit charity in 1980. Our federal tax identification number is 16-0876277. You should consult your financial planner or tax adviser to determine the exact tax advantages of any gift you are considering. We provide a receipt for all gifts that can be used to claim a tax deduction. If you need a copy of the receipt or need a receipt for your annual giving please call (315) 498-6060.
Will I receive a tax receipt when I make my gift?
Yes, all donors receive an official acknowledgment from the Foundation that serves as a tax receipt.
What is the Promise Annual Fund and where does my donation go?
The Promise Annual Fund is the most direct way for alumni, businesses, friends and family to support every effort at Onondaga Community College. Donations made to the annual fund directly support the student learning experience through emergency financial support for students, educational opportunities for faculty and staff, and student academic support and scholarships.
Where does Onondaga need the most support?
With the increasing challenges of financing higher education, Onondaga Community College has identified scholarships as the current top giving priority. A new scholarship fund can be endowed with a minimum gift of $25,000, and there are many existing funds which would benefit from gifts of any amount.
I’d like my contribution to go to a particular program. How do I make sure that happens?
You can always indicate a specific purpose for your gift, such as a department, athletic team or a named scholarship fund. If you choose to make your contribution using our secure online giving form, indicate your designation in the space provided. If you would like to send a check, please specify your designation in the memo line of the check.
I’d like to make a contribution in honor or memory of someone. What do I need to do?
Many donors choose to make a gift in honor or memory of a special person who may have touched their life in a special way. If you choose to make your contribution using our secure online giving form, indicate who is being honored or memorialized in the space provided. If you would like to send a check, please specify your designation in the memo line of the check. Honorees, and families of those gifts given in memoriam, will be notified of your generosity.
How can I take advantage of my (or my partner/spouse’s) company’s matching gift program?
You can often double or triple the impact of your gift if you are an employee or retiree of a corporation that matches gifts. Please contact your company’s human resource department to find out if your employer has a matching gift program.
How can I get more information about making a planned gift?
