Welch Allyn Employee/Alumni Reach Beyond Event
In June, Onondaga alumni who work for Welch Allyn in Skaneateles attended a reception in their honor. Hosted by Onondaga Honorary Alumnus William F. Allyn, the event continues the College’s efforts to engage more than 38,000 alumni, local corporations and members of the community in supporting the Reach Beyond Campaign.
Mr. Allyn, retired president and CEO of the company, also serves as Honorary Chair of the Reach Beyond Campaign, and he recognized Onondaga’s remarkable progress in recent years. In his address, he told the group to expect even greater success to come as a result of the campaign.
Onondaga President Debbie Sydow praised the group for its accomplishments, saying that success for alumni means success for the College. She put a strong emphasis on the Onondaga classroom experience, noting how personal interactions with professors leads to success later in life, and how the College has maintained its focus on serving the local community.
Melissa Reider, director of development/campaign director for the College, provided details on the campaign’s goals and discussed the growing importance of private giving to the College’s continued success, and how alumni can help.
