Onondaga Receives NJCAA Region III Sportsmanship Award

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has selected Onondaga Community College to receive a 2010-11 NJCAA Region III Sportsmanship Award. 

“This prestigious honor is a direct result of the commitment and dedication of our student-athletes and coaches to represent themselves, their families, their teams and the College in a first class way. We commend them for their efforts and for representing all of us the right way,” said Rob Edson, Athletics Director at Onondaga Community College. 

Onondaga Community College Athletic Stats for 2010-11:

  • 13 All-Americans NJCAA All Region Selections
  • 36 Mid-State Athletic Conference All Conference Selections
  • 31 NJCAA Academic All Region Selections
  • 8 NJCAA Exemplary Academic Achievement Selections
  • 5 NJCAA Division III Men’s National Tennis Player of the Year
  • NJCAA Men’s Lacrosse National Attackman, Midfielder, Defenseman, Goalie and Coach of the Year
  • 2011 – NJCAA Region III, Division III Champions – Men’s Tennis2011 – NJCAA National Men’s Lacrosse Coach of the Year – Chuck Wilbur

Onondaga has more than 200 student-athletes and 15 intercollegiate men’s and women’s athletic teams

Region III of the NJCAA recognizes member institutions that throughout the year exhibit dedication to the honor and integrity of intercollegiate athletics and whose student-athletes and staff display outstanding sportsmanship during competition.
