Music Professor Inducted into MCANA
Award-winning music critic David Abrams, Professor of Music and Chair of the Music Department at Onondaga Community College and editor of the online classical music review site, CNY Café Momus, was recently inducted into the Music Critics Association of North America (MCANA).
The celebrated consortium of music critics includes all of the music critics at the New York Times, regular contributors to the Wall Street Journal, primary critics at the Baltimore Sun, Chicago Tribune, Cincinnati Enquirer, Cleveland Plain Dealer, Dallas Morning-News, San Francisco Chronicle, Washington Post, as well as leading online publications like Musicalamerica.com, NewMusicBox, program annotators and radio producers. The organization is a member of the National Music Council. MCANA is the only North American association devoted solely to professional classical music critics.
Abrams was recommended for admission by a committee comprising Anthony Tommasini of the New York Times, Joshua Kosman of the San Francisco Chronicle and Canadian music critic, Robert Markow. Visit his blog at http://blog.cnycafemomus.com
