Welcome back Lazers! We're excited to have you all back on campus. Here are all the important dates you need to know for this semester. 

Note: This list does not cover half semester classes. To check out those dates, view our full academic calendar

January 28

  1. Last Day to Add a Class 
  2. Last Day to Drop a Class via WebAdvisor 
    • Why It's Important: This is the last day to drop a class online. You'll have some more time to drop a class in person 
    • Drop classes online via webadvisor or by visiting the Advising Center in Gordon 
  3. Last Day for a 75% refund of tuition 
    • Why It's Important: This is the last day to get a 75% refund of your tuition if you withdraw from all classes and decide to leave OCC. 

January 30 

  1. Deadline to apply for the Excelsior Scholarship for the Spring semester (for first time students)
    • Why It's Important: Students in New York State are eligible to make their education tuition-free. Applying for Excelsior after the FAFSA and TAP will help cover the difference after those two programs. 
    • Apply on the HESC Website

February 4

  1. Last Day for a 50% refund of tuition 
    • Why It's Important: This is the last day to get a 50% refund of your tuition if you withdraw from all classes and decide to leave OCC. 

February 11

  1. Last Day to Drop a Class in person at Student Central 
    • Why It's Important: This is the last day to drop a class for the semester. If you choose to withdraw from a class after this date, it could affect your financial aid or ability to transfer after OCC. 
  2. Last Day for a 25% refund of tuition 
    • Why It's Important: This is the last day to get a 25% refund of your tuition if you withdraw from all classes and decide to leave OCC. After this date, tuition refunds will only be issued for filling out a tuition and free appeal and tuition refunds are not gurantees. 

February 21 

  1. Deadline to Submit your Certificate of Residence for Spring Semester 
    • Why It's Important: Students living outside of Onondaga County are eligible to reduce their tuition by up to 50% by submitting a certificate of residence so that it matches the in-county rate. 

April 1 

  1. Registration for 2020-2021 begins for Current Students 
    • Why It's Important: Classes for Fall 2020, Winter 2021, Spring 2021 and Summer 2021 will be available so you can register for your next year of classes. The earlier you register, the better the chances you can get the classes you want and need. Plus being able to register for a full year means less planning down the line! 
    • Meet with your advisor to start scheduling your courses. 

April 15

  1. Last Day to Drop a Class with a Grade of W 
    • Why It's Important: It's the last day to drop a class without receiving a grade that could bring down your GPA. But, withdrawing from a course could also affect your financial aid and ability to transfer later. Before withdrawing, contact by calling 315-498-2000 or texting 315-400-4057 to see how it might affect your aid. 

May 13-15

  1. Finals Week 
    • Why It's Important: Finals exams make up in many cases the largest part of your grades. Make sure you're ready! 

May 16

  1. Commencement 
    • Why It's Important: It's the day you've been waiting for. The day you can walk across the stage and say you're a college graduate.
