Emergency response is critical

Make the difference by keeping a level head and knowing exactly what to do in a medical emergency. This unique partnership with SUNY Upstate Medical University will have you saving lives! 

Thanks to a generous donation by CineMedics CNY, two scholarships are available for students in both the Paramedic A.A.S. program and Paramedic Certificate program.  There are five, $500 awards available to help cover program costs. In addition, there are three, $2,000 awards available for each semester, up to a total of three semesters.  To be eligible for these scholarships, you need to be registered full-time in the programs and complete a short scholarship application available at www.sunyocc.edu/scholarships.

What You'll Learn

At OCC, you'll learn core medical principles that are key for your success, along with the critical thinking and communication skills to provide emergency care. You'll also learn important math and sciences to apply in the field.
At SUNY Upstate, you'll get to put those principles into action and get familiar with the gear and rigging you'll use. Put on your uniform and get ready to learn, hands-on. 

Where You'll Go

You'll be able to work for top medical centers, hospitals and ambulance services. 

Your internships will be with specialty departments such as Adult and Pediatric Level-I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, NYS Poison Control Center, and more.
