Are you interested in being a first responder? The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certificate program will prepare you to respond to emergency calls ranging from car accidents, violent traumas, heart attacks, childbirths, falls and emergency care needs in a variety of settings. With an active EMT Certificate you are eligible to apply for OCC's Paramedic Certificate and Paramedic A.A.S programs.

What You'll Learn
- Operate within the roles of an entry level provider of care and contributor to the EMT profession.
- Demonstrate and foster high standards of Prehospital and Emergency Medical practice in skill performance and patient advocacy.
- Provide care in a variety of settings to patients with diverse needs using decision making and judgment based on critical thinking, clinical competence, accountability and collaboration with the patient and the health care team.
- Use effective communication and interpersonal skills with patients and other health care workers.
You should know this is an initial certification course and can't be used as a renewed certification.
