Internships
The Community College Internship (CCI) program seeks to encourage community college students to enter technical careers relevant to the DOE mission by providing technical training experiences at the DOE laboratories. Selected students participate as interns appointed at one of 16 participating DOE laboratories. They work on technologies or instrumentation projects or major research facilities supporting DOE’s mission, under the guidance of laboratory staff scientists or engineers.
Research Opportunities
The SUNY Upstate Bridges to the Baccalaureate Program, at Binghamton University, make the transition from 2-year junior or community colleges to full 4-year baccalaureate programs. The program targets students from groups underrepresented groups in the biomedical and behavioral research enterprise, and populations disproportionately affected by health disparities.

The Onondaga County Health Department (OCHD) supports the education of graduate and undergraduate students interested in Public Health by providing relevant learning opportunities, work experience and by serving as mentors and role models. Depending upon our staffing levels, a limited number of internships may be available in health promotion, health education, health surveillance and statistics, nutrition, lead poisoning control, environmental health, public health preparedness, and disease control programs.
