The Department of English, Integrated Learning Studies and Communication Studies offers many of the core courses for the Humanities and Social Sciences A.A. degree program. In addition, the department offers a wide variety of exciting courses in a range of disciplines related to better producing and understanding the broad spectrum of human communication arts.
In addition to compulsory courses in writing, the department offers courses that meet the needs of the many different curricula throughout the college. Many of the courses offered are transferable to most four year institutions throughout the state and nation.
A number of the courses taught in the Department of English, Integrated Learning Studies, and Communication can be used toward the requirements of many minors offered at Onondaga Community College including African-American Studies, Cinema, Ethnic Diversity Studies, Honors, International/Global Studies, Journalism, and Women’s Studies.
