Renaissance Science, Magic, and Medicine in Harry Potter’s World

Coulter Library invites you to check out the traveling exhibition Renaissance Science, Magic, and Medicine in Harry Potter’s World.

The exhibit will be on display on the 2nd floor of Coulter Library from March 13th to April 22nd!

The banner exhibition features the plants, animals, and magic featured in the Harry Potter book series as influences by Renaissance thinkers and traditions that played a vital role in the development of Western science. The display and companion website explores the intersection of these ideas, and you can check it out here: https://www.nlm.nih.gov/exhibition/sciencemagicmedicine/index.html

In tandem with the resources from the National Library of Medicine, Coulter Librarians have a display of books and films covering topics of alchemy, medicine, magical creatures in myth, occult, and notable philosophers and practitioners of the time.

Stop by and check it out!
