Successful High School Students at OCC

Onondaga Community College’s diverse student body includes highly-motivated high school-aged students who are earning college credits while still completing their high school education. These early learners are achieving great things! Here are a few of their success stories.

Suhaib Fakhr ‘25

  • Suhaib started taking classes at OCC during his sophomore year at the Ihsan School of Excellence in Syracuse. He graduated from high school and college in 2025.

Alyssa Millet ‘25

  • Alyssa began taking classes at OCC in the summer of 2024. She graduated from East Syracuse Minoa High School and OCC in 2025.

Skylor Kelley ‘26

  • Skylor started taking classes on the OCC campus during his junior year at Hannibal High School as part of the P-TECH program. He graduated from Hannibal in 2025 and will complete his OCC degree in 2026.

“Once I started coming to OCC I said ‘I like this a lot.’ I’d tell anyone interested in this to go for it. This is a great opportunity if you’re looking for an alternate route.”

Hi’Zharria Harper ‘25

  • Hi’Zharria began taking classes at OCC during her sophomore year at the Syracuse Academy of Science. She graduated from high school and college in 2025.
  • Degree: Liberal Arts & Sciences: General Studies

 

“I really enjoyed the freedom that came with being in college. It opened a lot of opportunities for studying and extracurriculars. I have so much free time in between classes when I can study or be part of clubs or go to the Y and work out. You get so much more time to figure things out.”
