Martha Grener is a freelance artist and music educator. Noted for solo recitals and chamber music, she has performed for concert series including Civic Morning Musicals, Liverpool Library, Goldenberg, Motto Music, Joyful Noise, Utica College, and more. In 2014 her flute/harp group Duo L’Adour won a Syracuse Area Music Award (“Sammy Award”) for her album Dare to Dream: a series of reveries for flute & harp. 

Ms. Grener has been a featured soloist and chamber musician in the Syracuse Friends of Chamber Music series performing principal flute on Kuhlau quartet in e minor, concerto soloist in the Bloch Suite Modale, and collaborative flutist in the Dello Joio Trio. Ms. Grener performs as an extra in Symphoria, Catskill Symphony Orchestra, Clinton Symphony and other orchestras in upstate New York.  She will be a concerto soloist with the Auburn Chamber Orchestra in the Fall of 2022 and will serve as principal flute with Chelsea Opera in May of 2022.

Ms. Grener's education includes Ithaca College, Syracuse University, the Eastman School of Music followed by post graduate work at Northwestern University. She was a flutist at the Music Academy of the West.  She was a winner of National Federation of Music Clubs young artist competition (woodwind division) and was a two-time winner in concerto competitions.

In her life, Ms. Grener is completely dedicated as a flutist and music educator.  She is passionate about both and as such was a Syracuse Symphony Music Educator of the year, has presented clinics in both flute pedagogy and teaching band to middle school students at conferences and through Arts in Education.  She is an active NYSSMA all state and major organization adjudicator. She serves as Adjunct Flute Professor at Onondaga Community College and Lemoyne College. She loves her life with her Einstein like husband and their zany goldendoodle Coco!
