1098T Form

Each January, Onondaga Community College provides eligible students with online access to IRS Tax Form 1098-T.

What is IRS Tax Form 1098-T?

Form 1098-T is a tax form that reports qualified tuition and fee payments made during the calendar year. It is used to help students and families determine eligibility for certain education tax credits. Receiving a 1098-T does not automatically mean you qualify for a tax credit.

What are qualified tuition and fee payments?

Qualified tuition and fee payments are amounts incurred and paid during the calendar year for costs required to enroll in or attend classes.

They generally include:

  • Tuition
  • Mandatory fees required for enrollment
  • Box of Books fee

They do not include:

  • Housing or meal plans
  • Books or supplies not billed directly by the college
  • Insurance, transportation, or parking fees
  • Late fees or penalties

Only payments applied to qualified charges during the calendar year are reported on Form 1098-T.
Students who only took non-credit courses will not receive a Form 1098-T.

Can I view my 1098-T online?

Students can access their 1098T tuition statement in MyOCC. From the Financial Information menu:
