Thursday, October 8 at 5:30pm, Onondaga Community College will honor a new class of Alumni Faces inductees during a ceremony in the Frederick Marvin and Ernst Schuh Recital Hall in the Academic II building. OCC's Alumni Faces program recognizes outstanding alumni who have made a difference. Their stories illustrate the transformative power of an OCC education, and the promise of self-discovery that the College commits to every student, every day. In the weeks leading up to this year's ceremony, we are highlighting one of our new Alumni Faces honorees every Wednesday.

For decades, Sam Rowser has dedicated his life to helping first-generation college students access higher education, earn degrees, and build successful careers. As Executive Director of On Point for College, he has guided countless young people on the path to educational and professional success. A United States Marine Corps veteran, Rowser found a home at Onondaga Community College, where campus employment and student involvement taught him the value of community, mentorship, and service. Those lessons became the foundation of his life's work. He served students at OCC for more than a decade, continued his mission at the Southwest Community Center, where he met On Point Founder Ginny Donohue, and he now leads On Point for College. Reflecting on his journey, he says, "When I think about how I got to where I am now, everything I do at On Point is based on the foundation I built at OCC."
