Laurie Halse Anderson, ’81, Humanities, received the 2015 American Association of Community College Outstanding Alumni Award. She was one of only seven recipients. Bill Bonnell, '83, Radio & TV, is in his 11th season as the Producer of Saturday Night Football on ESPN and ABC. Bonnell is pictured (center)  with his on-air broadcast team of play-by-play announcer Chris Fowler (left) and color commentator Kirk Herbstreit (right). Timothy Burtis, ’89, Business Administration, was appointed 3rd District Onondaga County Legislator. Burtis is director of outside loan sales at Empower Federal Credit Union. Christine Carnegie, '13, joined the Syracuse Technology Garden as an administrative specialist. Denise M. Cavallo, ‘96, was promoted to branch manager at Community Bank System, Inc., for the Cicero office. She is a member of the Greater Cicero Chamber of Commerce, the Greater North Syracuse Chamber of Commerce and is a Red Cross volunteer.

Alena Cerro, '15, is interning with NBC television show Saturday Night Live while attending New York University's Tisch School of the Arts where she is majoring in film and television. Cerro has also interned on the "Inside Amy Schumer" television show. Michael Chapman joined Brown & Brown Empire State as a producer with the personal lines team. Previously, he was vice president of operations for the Greater Baldwinsville Ice Arena.

 

 Daniel Daoust, ’14, joined INFICON as a mechanical technician. Crystal (Smith) DeStefano ’04, became the President and Director of Public Relations of Strategic Communications, LLC.

Michael Frisina, '10, Architectural Technology, earned his Passive House Consultant Certification. Frisina joined Ashley McGraw Architects in 2016 and has worked on several additions and renovations at area school districts. Mary Greenfield, ’81, joined Pickney Hugo Group as a human resources and accounting coordinator. Michael James, ’86, Architectural Technology, was appointed associate principal at Ashley McGraw Architects. Judith Lamanna, ’69, published a book, Saint Carmella’s Grotto, which is a tale – inspired by true stories collected by the author – of intrigue and mystique, of local history surrounding the Solvay area. Alison Neufang, ’09, joined the Syracuse Media Group as an Ad Campaign Coordinator. Joseph Pedrotti, ‘82, was promoted to vice president at Community Bank, N.A. Gabriel Bol Deng, ’04, Andrew Italiano, ‘85, Cody Jamieson, ‘08, and Stella Barbuto Penizotto, '90, were named 2014 inductees to the Alumni Faces wall of honor at Onondaga. John Rizzo Jr., ’13, was named production assistant at WCNY-TV. Shawn Rose ‘92, Radio and Television, was promoted to senior systems architect at TERACAI. Previously, he served as senior systems engineer.

Don Sanford, '68, Liberal Arts, authored a book, "On Fourth Lake: A Social History of Lake Mendota. Samuel Washburn, '11, Art with specialization in Multimedia Design, joined full-service marketing communications firm Pinckney Hugo Group as a junior motion graphics designer.
