Chidera Joseph '16, Fall 2025 Alumni Faces Honoree

Thursday, October 16 at 5:30pm, Onondaga Community College will honor a new class of Alumni Faces inductees. The ceremony will be held in the Frederick Marvin and Ernst Schuh Recital Hall in the Academic II building. In the weeks leading up to the ceremony, we are highlighting one of our new Alumni Faces honorees every Wednesday.

Chidera Joseph '16 immigrated to the U.S. from Nigeria with her brother after being orphaned at age 8. She graduated from Jamesville-Dewitt High School in 2014 and came to OCC, where she gained strength from those around her. "I was an average high school student and didn't have academic confidence. At OCC I was nourished. I had professors who genuinely believed in me, and people who cared about my well-being." Joseph participated in the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program, was an officer in Student Government, and tutored fellow students in Calculus. She earned a Business Administration degree at OCC, a Communications degree at Cornell University, and is now a Digital Growth Strategist at Google, where she helps businesses grow through digital marketing. "I am standing because people at OCC believed in me, they pushed me, there are times when I didn't believe in myself, and I had to borrow energy from them. I feel like I am an example of it really takes a village. I didn't arrive here by myself."
