Navigators of Student Success - Kim Paduano

Throughout the summer, we are introducing you to several of our Student Success Navigators. For Onondaga Community College students, they are the dedicated point of contact for support. Student Success Navigators assist with class registration, help students stay on track academically, and connect students with campus resources to support their success.

Kim Paduano

• Kim is a Student Success Navigator in OCC's Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (C-STEP).
• Kim provides guidance to students participating in OCC's C-STEP program. C-STEP is funded by the New York State Education Department, and is designed to increase the number of economically disadvantaged students who are pursuing professional licensure and careers in mathematics, science, technology, and health-related fields.
• What Kim enjoys about being a Student Success Navigator: "What I love most about being a Student Success Navigator is the opportunity to reduce barriers that can make college feel overwhelming and help students feel supported, connected, and capable of succeeding. Many students are balancing academics alongside work, parenting, financial challenges, or other major life responsibilities, and I enjoy helping them navigate those obstacles while connecting them to the resources and support systems available to them. I especially value building genuine relationships with students and being someone they can turn to for guidance and encouragement. One of the most rewarding parts of the role is watching students persevere through challenges, grow in confidence, and continue moving toward goals that may have once felt out of reach."
