Onondaga Community College was named a Military Friendly School for the 2022-23 academic year thanks to the outstanding support it provides in the Office of Veterans and Military Services. "This is a great honor. The designation is a reflection of the consistent efforts of all OCC faculty and staff to support our military affiliated students," said Steve White, Assistant Director of Veterans Affairs. White runs the office along with Erin Elliott, who serves as a Technical Assistant.

The Office of Veterans and Military Services is located on the second floor of Coulter Hall. White and Elliott support military service members, veterans, and dependents, while guiding them toward their education goals. OCC's degree and certificate programs are approved for VA education benefits in accordance with the student's chapter eligibility.

OCC's latest designation as "Military Friendly" was announced in this month's edition of G.I. Jobs magazine and on its website. Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by Viqtory with input from the Military Friendly Advisory Council of independent leaders in higher education.
