Gabriel Tucker is a high-achieving student with a diverse set of skills. He's a member of the honor society who can play five musical instruments, loves spending his free time doing creative writing, and prior to Covid was an assistant sword instructor.
Women's Basketball Player Awarded Rob Edson Scholarship
Isabella Shenandoah-Kurtz didn't play basketball competitively until her freshman year at LaFayette Junior/Senior High School. When some of her closest friends said they would play, she joined them. "I was part of a committed group of girls. I started to play because they were playing, and then I fell in love with the sport."
Meet Our 2023 Alumni Faces Honorees
Onondaga Community College will welcome six distinguished graduates into the exclusive club of Alumni Faces honorees. They will be recognized on the night of Wednesday, October 18 during a ceremony in the Frederick Marvin and Ernst Schuh Recital Hall in the Academic II building. The event will be emceed by Glenn LaPoint '16 who is also known as "Gomez" on radio station WTKW FM, TK-99. The honorees are:

Alumnus Teaching Students Life Lessons
It's been a little more than two decades since Cameron Littlejohn '15 was a kindergartner at Ed Smith school in the Syracuse City School District (SCSD). Today he's back in elementary school, teaching 1st grade at Meachem Elementary which is also in the SCSD. "Being able to be part of kids development and learn from them is a blessing. I am thankful to be part of the solution in making an impact on their lives."

OCC's Provost Called to White House to Discuss Future Workforce Needs
The Biden Administration wants to bring more manufacturing back into the United States in an effort to create employment opportunities here at home with outstanding salaries, and make the nation less vulnerable to global events which cause unexpected shocks, such as Covid. With that overarching goal in mind, Monday the White House hosted the America Advanced Manufacturing Workforce Working Session of the National Economic Council and Domestic Policy. And one of the invited speakers was Onondaga Community College Provost and Senior Vice President Anastasia Urtz.
