Agreement with SUNY Upstate Medical University
Requirements
The Early Assurance program requires high school students to apply to SUNY Upstate and Onondaga Community College. The application deadline for Early Assurance is March 1st. Students accepted into this program during their senior year of high school are guaranteed admission, provided they meet all conditions of acceptance, into one of the upper division bachelor programs at SUNY Upstate Medical University.
- This program is a unique opportunity for high school seniors with a demonstrated commitment to a career in the health professions and a strong record of achievement in high school. Students accepted into this program are required to have completed at least three years of math and science courses (Regents, AP, and Honors preferred). Students applying Early Assurance should have competitive SAT or ACT scores.
- Students will be accepted during their senior year of high school (two years prior to the date of entry at SUNY Upstate) with guaranteed admission into one of the upper-division bachelor programs at SUNY Upstate Medical University's College of Health Professions. The decision to admit to SUNY Upstate Medical University will be at the sole discretion of the appropriate admissions committee at SUNY Upstate.
- The decision to admit to Onondaga Community College will be at the sole discretion of Onondaga Community College.
- Accepted students must successfully complete all prerequisite courses, and meet the minimum cumulative and prerequisite GPA for their intended program of study by January and May of their year of entry:
- Medical Imaging/Radiography (X-ray), BS- 3.3 GPA
- Medical Imaging Sciences/Ultrasound, BS- 3.3 GPA
- Medical Laboratory Science, BS- 3.3 GPA
- Medical Biotechnology, BS- 3.3 GPA
