Welcome to TRIO Student Support Services! We are a campus community dedicated to helping you ace your classes, earn your diploma, and successfully transfer to your dream four-year college or university. Think of us as your personal support team from day one until graduation.

We Provide

  • Tutoring Built Around You: Get personalized help from our in-house TRIO staff or and extra session per course through the Learning Center. Are you registered with OAR? You can even qualify for a fourth weekly tutoring session.
     
  • Peer Connectors: Lean on student mentors, skills tutors, and ambassadors who know exactly what it takes to succeed here—or join the team yourself to help others!
     
  • Technology Availability: Save your money! We offer free computer use and printing in-office, plus access to laptops and TI-84 calculators in our Opportunity Programs Office.
     
  • Financial Help & Grant Aid: Life happens, and we’re here for it. Beyond the generous offerings of OCC in the event of an emergency, you’ll have exclusive access to TRIO-specific Grant Aid and Emergency Aid only for TRIO SSS students.
     
  • Your Campus Home Base: Stop by our dedicated study space to prep for exams, collaborate on group projects, complete your homework, and more.
     
  • One-on-One Guidance: Get individualized advising tailored to your personal, academic, and career goals, alongside expert transfer support.
     
  • Success Workshops & Trips: Take advantage of financial literacy tips, scholarship help, interactive workshops, university campus tours, and student panels.

Who Qualifies?

To join TRIO, federal guidelines require that you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and meet at least one of the following:

  • First-Generation College Student: Neither of your parents/guardians has earned a bachelor's degree.  
    • Are you an independent student? If you are considered independent due to foster youth status, homelessness, or abandonment, please reach out to us directly so we can help determine your eligibility.
       
  • Income Eligibility: You and/or your family meet federal income qualifications. (Don't worry about doing the math—our team can quickly help you figure out if you meet this requirement!)
     
  • Documented Disability: You are registered with OCC's Office of Accessibility Resources (OAR).
