The artwork of Onondaga Community College colleagues was on display in the Gallery earlier this month. The exhibit, titled On My Own Time, highlighted the creativity and skill of those with whom we work every day. "It's been amazing to discover the artistic side of my colleagues. It's added a layer to my work relationships that I didn't expect," said Abby Klein, who is OCC's Assistant Director of Registration and Curriculum, and whose artwork is pictured at the top of this story.

Klein is one of 11 OCC employees whose creativity was on display in the gallery. "Submitting to On My Own Time has allowed the inner artist in me to emerge and experiment with various art mediums. I've been creating infinities since Mr. Weil's 7th grade social studies class, and they've continued to grow and evolve."

A panel of judges will decide which artwork will be selected to be shown at the Everson Museum's On My Own Time exhibit later this year. OCC's participating artists were:

  • Meredith Cantor-Feller
  • Mystical Harrington
  • Kenny Harris
  • Julie Hart
  • Anny Klein
  • Marta Loomis
  • Bharati Mahajan
  • Kim McAuliff
  • Anthony Smith
  • Olin Stratton
  • Alyssa Taddeo

Their work was celebrated during a reception May 30.
