Micron Technology brought energy, inspiration, and opportunity to Central New York with a dynamic week dedicated to building the region’s future STEM workforce. Its Community Week kicked off on Monday, March 30, with a lively Careers in Tech event at Onondaga Community College, where students in grades 6 through 12 dove into hands-on STEM activities designed to spark curiosity and creativity.

The highlight of the day came as students gathered to hear from hometown astronaut Dr. Jeannette Epps, whose journey to space offered a powerful reminder of what’s possible when passion meets perseverance.

The excitement continues throughout the week with events hosted at North Syracuse Junior High School, the OCM BOCES Training Center, the CenterState CEO INSPYRE Innovation Hub, and the Central New York Food Bank - where the focus shifts to the importance of community engagement and volunteerism. The week wraps up with a Free STEM Fest Day at the Museum of Science and Technology, promising an interactive celebration of science, technology, engineering, and math for all ages.

Looking ahead, Micron’s impact won’t stop there. This summer, seven Micron-sponsored Chip Camps will take place across the region, including one hosted on the OCC campus from July 15–17, giving even more students the chance to explore, innovate, and imagine themselves as the next generation of tech leaders.
