Fire Protection Technology
A car is intentionally set on fire, then the fire is extinguished as part of an exercise for a Fire Investigation class. Students will examine the car the following day and attempt to determine where the fire started.

Onondaga Community College's Fire Protection Technology degree program is getting a makeover. New Program Coordinator Kevin Geidel has brought his diverse background to campus and is working hard to introduce students to all of the related career options besides firefighting. Geidel has spent 20 years in the fire service and 15 years as an engineer. Through OCC's program students can learn critical skills such as system design, code enforcement, standards, research, product testing, and investigating.

The Fire Protection Technology degree program is the subject of our podcast, Higher Ed News You Can Use From Onondaga Community College. Our guest is Kevin Geidel. You can listen to the podcast by clicking on this link.
