Onondaga Community College welcomed 240 Syracuse City School District (SCSD) students into the P-TECH program during a signing ceremony held June 3 in Storer Auditorium. P-TECH stands for Pathways in Technology Early College High School. The program provides high school students the opportunity to work toward their high school diploma and associate degree simultaneously, and ultimately a pathway to an in-demand job. Students who participated in the signing ceremony are currently in the 9th or 10th grade.

Participating SCSD High School and the P-TECH Degree programs include:

  • Corcoran High School - Electromechanical Technology at OCC.
  • Henninger High School - Clinical Laboratory Technology at SUNY Broome, Health Information Technology at OCC, Health Sciences at OCC.
  • Institute of Technology at Syracuse Central - Electrical Technology at OCC, Mechanical Technology at OCC.
  • Public Service Leadership Academy - Computer Information Systems at OCC, Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems at Mohawk Valley Community College.

Event speakers included OCC President Dr. Warren Hilton, SCSD Superintendent Anthony Davis, the four high school principals, and Anna Lewis. She's a current P-TECH student in OCC's Computer Information Systems program, and a 2024 graduate of the Public Service Leadership Academy. She will complete her OCC degree in May 2026.
