Solomon Amendment Requests

The Solomon Amendment is a federal law that requires colleges and universities to provide certain student directory information to U.S. military recruiters upon request.

Your Privacy Choices

You have the right to restrict the release of your directory information. If you opt out of sharing your directory information, your information will not be shared with military recruiters.

How to Restrict Your Information

Email the Office of Registration & Records at registrar@sunyocc.edu at least 10 days prior to the start of the semester. Your email should be sent from your OCC student email and include:

  • Your full name
  • Your OCC student ID number
  • The semester you want the request to take effect

Important Note: A directory restriction applies broadly. This means your information will also be withheld from other lists or campus publications unless you specifically permit it in writing.
