Special Circumstances
A Special Circumstances review is a request to reevaluate a student’s financial aid eligibility when the student or their family has experienced a significant and documented change in financial circumstances. This review may be appropriate when the information reported on the FAFSA no longer accurately reflects the student’s or family’s current financial situation.
Some applicable special circumstances are:
- Change/Loss of employment
- Death of a parent or spouse
- Unusual medical expense
- Divorce or separation
