SAP Appeal
Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) is used to determine whether a student is successfully advancing toward their degree or certificate. Students who do not meet SAP standards may lose their eligibility for financial aid.
If extenuating circumstances have affected your academic performance, you may be eligible to submit a SAP Appeal.
Examples of qualifying circumstances may include:
• Accident or injury requiring hospitalization and recovery
• Sudden call to military active duty
• Death of an immediate family member
• Fire or other catastrophic events
• Medical issues requiring extensive follow-up care
Students may submit a SAP Appeal for serious extenuating circumstances that occurred during the semester in which they became SAP ineligible. Please note that submitting an appeal does not guarantee approval or the reinstatement of financial aid.
